Caldershaw Primary School is an inclusive school and we aim to develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and aspirations of every member of our school community, addressing their needs and supporting their development in the most appropriate ways possible. We are committed to providing all of our children every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards, whilst recognising that some children face barriers to their learning that may have an impact on their achievement, emotional and social welfare or attendance. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have high expectations for all children.
We support all children and in particular those with SEND in the first instance with our Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP) – the provision that all children with SEN and/or disabilities should expect in Rochdale’s mainstream schools. This is provision which contributes to an inclusive education policy and includes a range of teaching and learning strategies, adaptation of the physical and sensory environment and resources and pastoral support. Click here for our Ordinarily Available Provision.
